The Ministry of Environment, Solid Waste Management and Climate Change organised a workshop under the theme “Plastic-Free Mauritius” on 18th October to sensitise Mauritians about plastic pollution and its consequences.
On this occasion, RT Knits advocated on the theme “Initiatives towards a plastic free country – Focusing on the textile sector” whereby we explained how the usage of plastic can be optimised in the textile industry to minimise its adverse impact on the environment. We talked about how plastic waste can be managed, and the initiatives that we have launched such as reusable fabric covers, using computer-aided marker to optimise markers, and plastic recycling.
