Zaiynoumah’s work experience and qualities beautifully illustrate this year’s theme #shapetheworld. From her studies in high school where she had a keen interest in chemistry, to her choice of study in the engineering field, her objective was to find opportunities to explore, grow and expand her horizons.
For her, engineering is about set values, attitudes and thinking skills. Investigative and realistic interests are also triggered as her day-to-day involves troubleshooting, devising investigation methods, and designing corrective action plans. “My job allows me to develop an analytical way of thinking which aligns with my inspiration towards engineering. The sense of achievement after resolving a problem probes me to do better and push forward.”
Zaiynoumah’s fruitful career at RT Knits has brought her opportunities to be involved in projects, which have allowed her to grow both on a personal and professional level: “The novelty of a new experience within the projects which brings along new ideas, method of approach, newly acquired skills, the recognition and independence that follows.”
Her advice to women entering the engineering field: “With a positive attitude, we can create our own voice. Believe in yourself and work progressively towards your goals.”
